The sleek glass design gives this tank a very modern look without taking away from the natural beauty of your aquatic friends inside.
Yes, Coralife Biocube 32 offers a lot. However, can this starter kit from Coralife live up to the hype in terms of quality and performance? Is this kit worth your money? Let’s take a look at the Coralife Biocube 32 review.
Coralife BioCube 32 Review
Design And Construction
The Coralife BioCube Aquarium is just what you need to keep your fish tank looking stylish. It has a beautifully sleek black body held by a transparent fish tank with smoothly curved edges. It gives it an elegant look without taking up too much space or hiding anything from view.
This gorgeous piece of equipment already makes me feel like my home decor needs some updating (which happens more often than I’d like). In other words, simply “It’s stunning.”
This tank measures 20.2 x 21.9 x 21.5 inches in size, featuring a 32-gallon capacity. While an empty tank weighs 56 pounds, a full tank with water weighs around 300 pounds. The weight would undoubtedly increase with equipment. However, it could be set up inside a room perfectly.
Built-in Filtration System
Filters are essential for a fish tank. However, the number of alternatives is quite large. Without proper research, you will purchase a random impulsive item just because you don’t know what else to do.
As for the Coralife BioCube 32, it has its own built-in filter system that will eliminate the need to make a choice altogether and provide a quality and compatible filtration system for this tank.
Media types can be selected to personalize the filter. Besides being compact and having dual intakes, it also has a submersible pump. Furthermore, it has an adjustable return nozzle, so you can choose whether the water cascades into the tank or trickles.
Contrary to most pumps in its class and price range, this submersible pump is surprisingly quiet and discreet.
In the filtration system, there are three chambers: one for bacteria and algae growth, one for housing the submersible pump, and the last chamber for housing the heater (not included, though) and filtering media.
Lighting System
The lighting system of the Coralife Fish Tank is undoubtedly its most prized and impressive feature.
The slim, low-profile hood contains vibrant LED lighting. LED lights are capable of sustaining and growing healthy corals and beautiful live plants. It includes three independent channels of LED lighting; bright white light, sparkling blue color enhancing LEDs, or soothing warm white bulbs!
You can adjust their brightness levels or turn off one channel completely for darkness! The integrated 24-hour timer makes it easy, too – no need to worry about forgetting when night falls.
You’ll be able to replicate a natural day/night cycle for your aquatic environment with the automatic 30-minute sunrise/sunset and 60-minute moonrise/moonset functions.
Temperature Control
Maintaining the proper temperature in your aquarium cannot be emphasized enough.
Temperature is one of the most critical determinants influencing the health of an aquatic ecosystem. There will be consequences to the point of destroying your coral and fish if the water is too cold or too hot.
Coralife fish tank has undoubtedly considered all of these factors, except a heater. There will be some means to regulate the temperature, however. Often, the LED lights inside the system heat the water in the tank, which is cooled by a fan inside the system.
What If I use Coralife Biocube 32 as a freshwater tank?
The excellence of this tank is that it can be used for freshwater or saltwater. With this tank, you can be assured that your freshwater aquatic pet will never have an unhappy home.
From both a saltwater and freshwater perspective, it’s perfect – no matter what type of fish or other creatures live in here, they’ll get all the love they need! Follow proper guidelines on how to start a freshwater tank and ensure regular maintenance.
How to Set Up Coralife Biocube 32
I love that the Coralife Biocube 32 comes with everything you need to set it up. I found the setup method to be straightforward and easy. The instructions were clear, so I didn’t have any problems from beginning to end!
Rinse out any dirt or debris on the outside of your Biocube using warm water and dish soap. Be sure to dry thoroughly before setting up your new aquarium!
Although you can place it against the wall, it is better to have some clearances to access the back chamber.
You should leave enough space inside the tank for your fish and let them swim around to make sure they’re happy. Depending on the aquarium types you want to build, some decorations like live plants, corals, and rocks will help make the interior beautiful and provide some hiding places for the fish.
Now it’s time to add the water! Initially, it might be cloudy; it takes a few hours to clear out. It’s essential to allow your tank at least a month to cycle before adding fish.
Upgrades & Mods of Coralife Biocube 32
The Coralife Biocube 32 is an excellent starter kit for saltwater or reef aquariums. But there are some upgrades you can make to unleash its full potential. However, there are still upgrades that you can make to unleash the full potential of this beast! So let’s have a look at some awesome add-ons I recommend adding to your new tank setup.
Coralife Designer Biocube Stand
The tank must be positioned on a stand. If you do not have one, then your aquarium may tip over and fall due to the weight of all those gallons of water. Coffee tables or TV stands are just not made for holding something so heavy!
Even if this is an issue, I would still recommend such an aesthetically pleasing piece like the Coralife Designer stand. Probably, there is no better way to display the fish tank than on this stand.
This stand is specifically built for the Biocube 32 (or 16) by Coralife itself. It features slim black handles and tinted acrylic door panels that match perfectly to complement your decor. While durable feet keep it raised so, you can enjoy watching fish swim around at eye level!
It also includes convenient storage shelves. In addition to solid construction from water-resistant materials, this stand is perfect if you have limited space but still want an efficient display.
Protein Skimmer
A protein skimmer will help you to save money in the long run. It pulls out waste and gunk, which means that less water change is required for your tank! This saves on reef salt costs.
As a beautiful complement to any Coralife Biocube aquarium, you can use the Coralife Protein Skimmer. As they are particularly intended for use in chamber 1 of the rear portion, it allows you to seal the tank’s lid without modifying anything!
Wrapping Up
When it comes to the Coralife Biocube 32 starter kit, we really do think that this product will be your best option. With its convenient size and durability, you can’t go wrong!
With its beautiful design and affordable price, this aquarium seems like a perfect fit. Hopefully, you’ve found this Coralife Biocube 32 review helpful. If you have anything else to know, please leave a comment below.
